The goal of this course is to provide information technology profesionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully manage databases and develop database based applications.
Relational databases today drive most critical legacy, desktop and Web-enabled applications. Designing a database that accurately and completely captures user requirements is vital for success. Managing database so that it performs at its maximum is equally important. This course provides a comprehensive foundation for designing, building, and working with relational databases. It follows the development process path from database software installation, database and application design to effective use of relational databases in computing environment. From administrative viewpoint it focuses on using SQL language and available GUI tools to conduct common database activities.
Hands-on activities, guided walk-throughs, use-case scenarios and best practices are used to reinforce learning.
Audience:
Data Analysts, developers, future DBAs and anyone involved in designing, building and
using relational databases, implementing database applications, or managing database development projects.
Prerequisites:
Basic computing skills. Knowledge of operating systems such as Microsoft Windows or Linux. Strong personal interest for database systems.
