Description:
The course provides information for server administrators, responsible for the operations and management of an infrastructure of servers for an enterprise organization, including management of the infrastructure, Web, and IT application servers. Primary tasks include management of the:

• Operating system, file, and directory services
• Software distribution and updates
• Profiling and monitoring servers

Course Outline:

• Plan a Windows Server 2008 deployment, including server commissioning and decommissioning, server, configuration change, and security.
• Manage application versioning.
• Server update maintenance.
• Maintain Distributed File System (DFS.)
• Server backup requirements and policies.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.

Requirement for Certification:
Exam 70-646: Pro: Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator: counts as credit toward the following certification(s):
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator

Audience:
Windows Server 2008 technology network and active directory specialists.

Duration: 3 days.

Prerequisites:
- Working knowledge of Windows deployment, networking, and AD technologies and implementation.
