IT Support Specialist

Description:
The goal of this course is to provide information technology profesionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful and excel in the role of a computer support professional. It also provides an essential and strong base for continuing training and mastery in more specialized categories of IT expertise such as Application Specialist, System Administrator, Network Administrator or Security Specialist. For IT managers it provides an essential tool for deeper understanding of day-to-day challenges of an IT team. It also provides insight into many exciting opportunities to develop that team into a more flexible, efficient and productive one.

Information technology is an exciting profession that involves work with infrastructure necesary to create, manage and deliver information. Objectives:
Upon completion of this training, the student should be able to:

• Identify the fundamental components, functions, principles, tools and troubleshooting techniques of computer hardware and operating systems.
• Install, configure, optimize and maintain computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Identify the primary components of networks, cabling and networking protocols.
• Build reliable networks using effective TCP/IP design.
• Deploy wired and wireless network hosts.
• Learn to assess system vulnerabilities and protect systems and data by applying proper computer, network and application security measures.
• Build on additional customer service skills.

Format:
This class, including hands-on activities, is offered as a private, instructor-led class taught at a instructor’s facility on one week for up to 9 students.

Hands-on activities, guided walk-throughs, use-case scenarios and best practices are used to reinforce learning.
